Trading Conditions
All business undertaken by Lacy & Middlemiss is subject to the current standard trading conditions of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, for shipbroking and ships agency, and BIFA for freight forwarding.
These regulate the liabilities and responsibilities of both Lacy & Middlemiss Shipbrokers and its customers.
The British International Freight Association (BIFA) is the trade association for UK registered companies engaged in international movement of freight by all modes of transport, air, road, rail and sea. BIFA members adopt a code of conduct, and trade under a nationally accepted set of Standard Trading Conditions that are backed in the insurance sector.
The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers is the professional body for all members of the commercial shipping industry worldwide. The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers sets and examines the syllabus for membership, providing the shipping industry with highly qualified professionals.
